Groundhog Day 2022: Like a Wet Finger in the Wind

Published on

Today, February 2, 2022 is Groundhog Day. For those unaware of what this means; this day is a spectacle surrounding a rodent. People in a tiny town in Pennsylvania get all dressed up, and watch a groundhog to predict the weather. In terms of technology used to guess the weather, a rodent walking around outside is pretty old school. It’s not quite the equivalent of that guy who licks his finger and holds it up in the air to feel which way the wind is blowing, but it’s pretty close…

First of all, the suits those guys were wearing. You just know, they love getting dressed up like that. And, there is only one way to wear a long tailed suit and top hat: With Confidence.

So anyway, back to Punxsutawney Phil. Winter or summer, there will be good times and bad times. But when there are storms in my heart, I think of Psalm 107:29, “He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed.”

I am grateful to God, I can lean on him when times are tough…. and not just a wet finger in the wind
