Why Do You Chose Your Confirmation Name?

Published on

For Catholics, the sacrament of Confirmation is a significant milestone in our spiritual journey. It’s a time when individuals confirm their commitment to the Catholic faith and receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit. As part of this sacrament, we choose a Confirmation name, which is an additional name taken on to signify our new identity as a confirmed Catholic.

In the early days of the Catholic Church, many people took on new names when they converted to Christianity. This was often to signify a new beginning or to distance themselves from their old pagan beliefs. Today, Confirmation names serve a similar purpose, and are chosen to reflect a person’s newfound commitment to the Catholic faith.
